OXE Marine was founded in Ängelholm, Sweden in 2012 and is driven by the ambition to transform the outboard motor, impacting the journey towards a more sustainable and ecologically positive marine environment. The company aims to be a global market leader in diesel outboard engines, primarily for commercial use and been in the market since they established the OXE200 outboard diesel in 2017.
The collaboration between OXE-Marine and BMW started in 2018 with the development of the 300hp diesel outboard OXE300 and has grown into a great business relationship. The BMW 6-cylinder high performance diesel combined with the patented belt propulsion technique and a hydraulic gearbox results in a unique product that combines high efficiency and performance with best in class functions such as trolling mode and quick shift capability. The OXE300 is particularly designed for commercial users, using their boat every day, no matter the conditions, having to rely on the units for many hours every day. The OXE300 significantly reduces fuel consumption and emissions compared to petrol fueled outboard standards. The emission levels are approved by EPA TIER 3, IMO TIER II and RCD.
Following this successful collaboration, both parties have agreed to co-brand the OXE300. The BMW logo and the caption “In cooperation with BMW” will be displayed on both sides of the cowling.
Currently OXE Marine is getting ready to start the series production of the OXE300 and in parallel the concept phase for the marinization of the BMW 4-cylinder diesel for the OXE200 successor is picking up speed.
In the future hybridization and electrification will play an important role in the marine world. More to come.
